In a chilling turn of events in the Boragaon Nizarapar gang rape case, Mrinal Rabha, one of the accused, has confessed to the police, providing disturbing details of the brutal assault. According to Rabha’s confession, the victim was lured to the area for Rs 1,000 by another accused, Rabin Das, who paid the amount to engage in unlawful acts with the woman.
Rabha further revealed that after the initial perpetrators, a group of at least nine individuals joined in, forcibly assaulting the victim. The confession also implicated Krishna Barman and Rabin Das, who filmed the horrific assault, and the video was later circulated online, igniting public outrage.
The woman, reportedly brought from Jalukbari, was taken to the Durga Temple in Nizarapar, where the assault took place. The perpetrators not only assaulted the victim but also celebrated their crime by recording and sharing the video.
The city police have registered a second case against the Nizarapar Durga Temple Committee, in addition to a previous case, as part of ongoing investigations. Efforts are underway to use Rabha’s confession to strengthen the prosecution’s case and ensure justice for the victim.
