All Suspects in Boragaon Gang Rape Case Arrested Following Extensive Manhunt
The ninth accused in the appalling gang rape case that shocked Guwahati’s Boragaon area has been apprehended, bringing all suspects involved in the crime to justice. The accused, identified as Krishna Barman, was arrested late Friday night from Golakganj in Dhubri district after an intensive search operation by the police.
The incident, which occurred on November 17 at a Durga temple in Boragaon’s Nijarapar area, involved nine individuals who allegedly raped a woman and filmed the horrifying act. The crime came to public attention after the video circulated on social media, prompting immediate police action.
Earlier on Friday, Garchuk police carried out multiple raids across Guwahati, arresting eight of the accused. With the capture of Krishna Barman, all nine individuals implicated in the case are now in custody.

- Mrinal Rabha (19), Pachim Boragaon, Nizarapar.
- Dipankar Mukhiya (21), Tetelia, Padumbari, Jalukbari.
- Rabin Das (23), Bakul Nagar, Boragaon.
- Krishna Barman, Golakganj, Dhubri district.
The city police are now focused on gathering additional evidence and unraveling the full details of the crime to ensure a robust case against the accused. The heinous act has drawn widespread condemnation and underscored the urgent need for vigilance and stringent measures to prevent such atrocities.
