Man Critically Injured in Elephant Attack in Arunachal Pradesh
A 22-year-old man from Arunachal Pradesh is currently battling for his life after a harrowing encounter with a wild elephant. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the Dobam village area of Banderdewa circle.
The victim, identified as Chukhu Obi, had ventured into the nearby forest to tend to his livestock when he was attacked by a tuskless male elephant. The sudden and violent assault left him critically injured.
Upon receiving the distress call, a swift response team comprising local residents and police officials, led by Banderdewa Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Kipa Hamak, rushed to the scene. The injured man was successfully rescued from the perilous forest and immediately transported to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) for urgent medical attention.
In light of this unfortunate incident, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police Mihin Gambo has issued a stern warning to the public to exercise extreme caution while venturing into forested areas.
