Woman Rescued After Three-Day Confinement and Assault in Assam’s Ledo Molang Village

A young woman who was allegedly confined and assaulted for three days in Ledo Molang village, Margherita, Assam, has been rescued, and the accused has been detained for further investigation.

The accused, identified as Ali Hussain, a resident of Ledo Tirap and reportedly involved in illegal coal trading, allegedly lured the victim, Selina Khatun, into a secluded room under false pretenses on December 14. According to reports, the victim, who frequented Hussain’s fish farm to gather cattle grass, was offered water laced with intoxicants, after which she was confined and subjected to repeated assaults.

Concerned by her prolonged absence, the victim’s family launched a frantic search. It was her younger brother who discovered her after hearing her cries from an abandoned building. Locals swiftly intervened to rescue the woman and informed the police, who have since taken both the accused and the victim into custody for questioning.

The incident has triggered widespread outrage within the local community, raising concerns about safety and justice for victims of such crimes. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the matter as the case progresses.
