Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi Receives Asom Prakashan Parishad Literary Award for 2024

Renowned author Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi has been honored with the prestigious Asom Prakashan Parishad Literary Award for the year 2024. The award was conferred upon him for his remarkable work Dhar Aru Anyanya Golpo, which has been widely appreciated for its literary excellence.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, an angavastra, and a bundle of books, recognizing Thongchi’s significant contribution to Assamese literature.

Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi joins the ranks of distinguished writers who have previously received the Asom Prakashan Parishad Literary Award. Notable recipients include Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora (2023), Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka (2022), and Dr. Nandita Devi (2021), all of whom have made significant contributions to the literary landscape of Assam.

In other literary news, the eagerly awaited Assam Book Fair in Guwahati, organized by the Assam Publication Board and the All Assam Publishers and Booksellers Association, is set to begin tomorrow at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara.
