Assam BJP MP Dilip Saikia Criticizes Congress-led INDIA Alliance Over Sanatan Dharma Remarks

Assam BJP MP Dilip Saikia has sharply criticized the Congress-led INDIA alliance, accusing its members of consistently opposing the values of Sanatan Dharma. Speaking to the media, Saikia claimed, “Their behaviour, actions, words—they always stand against the thoughts of the Sanatanis. Appeasement politics is their only agenda.”

Saikia went on to highlight the Congress party’s historical record of divisive politics, citing examples such as the special laws made for Kashmir and controversial remarks like “Sanatan Dharma is like cancer.” According to the BJP MP, such statements reflect the party’s disdain for the cultural and spiritual values cherished by millions of Indians.

The BJP leader’s comments come amid an ongoing controversy sparked by remarks from opposition leaders, which have drawn strong reactions from BJP figures across the country. The invocation of Sanatan Dharma in political discussions has become a contentious issue, with both the ruling party and opposition accusing each other of using religion to influence voters.

Saikia’s remarks form part of a broader BJP narrative that positions the party as the guardian of India’s cultural heritage, contrasting itself with Congress, which it accuses of pandering to appeasement politics.
