Manipur Gears Up for Elections with Updated Electoral Rolls
Imphal, Manipur – The Chief Electoral Office (CEO) of Manipur published the final electoral rolls for all 60 assembly constituencies on January 6, 2025. The updated rolls reflect significant demographic shifts and a rise in voter registration across the state.
A key takeaway is the improvement in gender representation, with the female-to-male voter ratio increasing to 1,070 females per 1,000 males from 1,069 in the draft rolls published last October. The total number of electors has grown to 20,54,387, marking a net increase of nearly 20,000 voters since the previous draft.
“The revision period saw a net addition of over 29,000 new electors, with a significant increase in female registrations,” stated CEO Pradeep Kumar Jha. The elector-population ratio has also improved to 55.37%, indicating greater electoral participation.
The revision process also involved the removal of over 9,700 names from the rolls and the registration of more than 21,000 service electors.
Citizens can inspect the final electoral rolls at local Electoral Registration Officers’ offices or through Booth Level Officers. Digital access is available on the CEO’s website, while printed copies can be obtained for a fee.
