13 years passed: Cursed October 30

Today is October 30. The october 30, 2008 serial blasts in Assam completed 13 years today. The memory of this indiscriminate murder that killed more than 90 people, including children, still moistens the hearts of the victims’ families as well as every human being.

On the morning of October 30, 2008, the rebel outfit NDFB (Ranjan Daimary) carried out a series of blasts at Kokrajhar, Barpetarod, Bongaigaon in the state including Ganeshguri, Panbazar, Kasari in Guwahati.

Fifteen of NDFB Ranjan Daimary group were convicted in 2018 at the end of 10 years. The CBI had investigated the incident and submitted two chargesheets. The chargesheet had 22 names. Seven of the 22 were absconding. The court convicted 15 of the 15 present in the rest of the court
