Horrific incidents in the state, two women victims of acid attacks. The sensational incident took place in Rangajan in Lakhimpur district.

The miscreants attacked two women with acid in Showapati. Two women, Rehena Begum and Nureda Begum, were seriously injured.

Rehena Begum’s husband Rafikul Islam allegedly committed the incident. Rafikul got married to Rehena 10 years ago.

But the husband had often physically tortured Rehena for dowry since marriage.

Even three months ago Rafikul broke wife Rehena’s hand. Rehena had been in her mother’s house ever since.

The woman had gone for a family visit to the family’s relatives’ house last day as the situation calmed down a bit and health also improved somewhat. It happens there.

The acid was poured by cutting the door of the house in the middle of the night and the body of the wife as well as another woman sleeping next to her wife. Immediately there is a commotion all over. On the other hand the acid attacker fled the spot after committing the incident.

The two women who were immediately affected by acid attack at night were hospitalised at North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital. But the situation got somewhat serious and sent to Dibrugarh Assam Medical College for better treatment.
The attacking husband Rafiqul Islamic is on the run.
