Robbery in the middle of Uriamghat market in the evening, two arrested…

A robbery took place at the hardware shop of Sanjay Sharma, a businessman located in the heart of Uriamghat market around 7.30pm on Monday. A group of four robbers entered the shop and took advantage of the shop owner Sanjay Sharma’s sit-in with a rod bolt and threatened another man in the shop Vijay Singh with a loorbolt on his head and started shouting as he fled with money out of the cash box.

Immediately the neighbours came and chased and managed to get a robber and took advantage of the other few darkness essaying on a bike.
The shop owner said the team took around Rs 40,000 from his paint pocket and the case box. The arrested robber was identified as Naren (Sunu) Baruah and ghar Merapani police station in Chowdang Field Tarani village under Merapani police station. As soon as the incident was reported to the police, the arrested robber was brought to Uriamghat police station and continued to be treated.

Meanwhile, police sources said that another robber Ranjit Rajvanshi involved in the incident has been arrested by Uriamghat police from his residence in Merapani Namati village. Police have registered a case number 03/2022 in connection with the robbery incident at Uriamghat police station and are continuing investigation into the incident and are investigating extensively to nab the other two robbers who are on the run.

Meanwhile, Uriamghat was involved in a robbery incident in the middle of the market in the evening and at a business establishment just 200 metres from the crpf force camp no. 142.
