Assam: LGBI Airport To add 72 more flights For summer schedule

Guwahati: The summer schedule which runs from March 26 through the last Sunday in October will see an increase in daily flights from 63 to 72at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati, Assam.

The airport intends to enhance the number of flights via Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Lucknow, and Kolkata in addition to adding flights to Bhubaneswar, Goa MOPA, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Coimbatore.

Indigo, Airasia and Flybig are expected to have the highest number of weekly operations during the summer schedule, with 203, 77 and 48 flights respectively.

Bhutan Airlines will also start operating on May 13 with its brand-new direct service that runs twice daily from Guwahati to Paro.

With the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Guwahati airport has seen a substantial increase in both air traffic movement and passenger numbers.

The LGBIA will be utilised on a total of 572 flights out of Guwahati during the summer schedule.
