7-Year-Old Trampled To Death By Wild Elephants In Assam
Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old child has been trampled to death when a stray wild elephant attacked the victim in Baksa district of Assam on Sunday.
The incident was reported from Goreswar town of the district.
This occurs in the midst of escalating accounts of human-elephant conflict in Assam, which frequently results in fatalities.
As per reports, another minor girl sustained severe injuries when wild elephants rampaged through the town.
As per the information received, wild tuskers charged at the residence of Chandra Daimary, a resident of Goreswar.
The elephants trampled his seven-year-old daughter to death as they left his home in a pile of rubble.
Meanwhile, both the deceased and the injured children were daughters of Chandra Daimary. The other daughter was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati in a critical state after suffering severe injuries in the elephant assault.
It should be mentioned that Assam has seen a sharp increase in human-animal conflict as a result of habitat loss.
