Assembly session proceedings in Assam on April 3 have been postponed

Guwahati: The Assam Legislative Assembly decided to postpone all of its scheduled events for April 3 at a discussion on Wednesday.

Reports claim that the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assam Assembly decided to call off all of the day’s activities during a meeting on Wednesday night owing to unforeseen circumstances.

The BAC has rescheduled the postponed meeting for April 6 instead.

It should be noted that the Assam Assembly’s current budget session was supposed to expire on April 5, but that date has been extended due to the rescheduling of the proceedings for the cancelled session to April 6.

A question-and-answer session and the passage of the government’s pending laws were both planned for the assembly session that was slated to take place on April 3. It’s now been moved to April 6.

Education Minister Ranoj Pegu stated that there were no new proposals for non-provincialized educational institutions in the state during the Assam Assembly meeting on Thursday.

Ranoj Pegu made it clear that there were no plans to change the legislation governing the provincialization of educational institutions when he spoke to the House today during the Assam Legislative Assembly’s ongoing budget session.

The Assam minister of education also stated there is no assurance that the law will be changed in the future.

Ranoj Pegu claims that going forward, a state-level committee will be in charge of selecting school teachers.

He clarified that not all of the posts that have already been posted will be affected by the adjustments.

The education minister made it clear that for the time being, the impacted colleges will have the authority to appoint teachers.

Ranoj Pegu continued by saying that colleges are no longer permitted to publish adverts for teacher appointments.
