Assam: 2 Nagaon Doctors Test COVID-19 Positive

Guwahati: Two doctors have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaon district of Assam on Thursday.

The duo has been identified as Rahul Debnath and Kalpana Barua, both are spouses and doctors by profession.

According to reports, the husband-and-wife duo tested positive for COVID-19 after taking antigen tests on Wednesday (April 6), when they had just returned to Assam from Hyderabad.

Currently, both of them are being isolated at home.

State health minister Keshab Mahanta presided over a meeting today with representatives from NITI Aayog and the health department in response to the recent COVID-19 infections.

A fresh set of guidelines related to COVID-19 is expected.

India recorded 6,050 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid cases in the nation has increased recently, with the daily fresh infections being 2,994 on April 1, 3,824 on April 2, 3,641 on April 3, 3,038 on April 4, and 4,435 on April 5.

There are presently 28,303 Covid cases open in India, with a daily positive rate of 3.39 percent.
