Assam: Massive Fire Guts 7 Shops In Barpeta

Guwahati: At least seven shops were gutted and properties worth lakhs lost in a massive fire which broke out in Barpeta district of Assam on Sunday night.

The incident occurred at Baghbar area of the district.

The fire engulfed in front of Baghbar High School in Barpeta reducing property and valuable assets worth lakhs to ashes.

It has come to light that a cylinder explosion at a tea shop caused the fire to quickly spread to nearby stores.

The blaze was brought under control by fire brigades’ team which reached the spot after getting information and successfully doused the fire.

No loss of life or injury was reported in the unfortunate incident.
