Devi Prasad Bagrodia To Receive the Basudev Jalan Award 2022
Guwahati: The 2022 laureate of the prestigious Basudev Jalan Sonwarani Award has been named by the Asom Sahitya Sabha, one of India’s most illustrious literary associations.
Devi Prasad Bagrodia will receive the honours.
The well-known author and poet Bagrodia has significantly influenced Assamese literature.
Bagodia will receive the honour during a ceremony hosted by the Asom Sahitya Sabha on May 7. The Sabha expressed its joy at honouring Bagodia for her major contributions to literature and expressed the hope that the award will encourage other authors to pursue excellence in their work.
It is given annually to honour excellent accomplishments in the world of writing and is named for Basudev Jalan, a well-known philanthropist and promoter of literature. Bagodia has made significant contributions to Assamese literature, and his writing has received appreciation for both its uniqueness and profundity.
The LXXVI session of the Asom Sahitya Sabha, the oldest and most esteemed literary body of Assam and the Assamese language, was previously held at Narayanpur in the Lakhimpur district from January 31 to February 4.
