Tripura: 3 children drown in a river, one critically ill
Guwahati: In a tragic incident on Sunday in Tripura’s Khowai district, three children—two boys and a girl—drowned in a river and another boy was in serious condition, according to officials.
According to a police spokesman, the three chidren, who ranged in age from 6 to 12, drowned in the Khowai river while taking a bath. Six-year-old Ayan Das was rescued by his grandfather, who was with all four of the children.
Three children’s bodies were pulled from the river by members of Tripura Fire and Emergency Services and a few locals, who then took them to a government hospital where they were pronounced dead, according to the spokesman.
The three children, who live in the West Tripura district, visited their uncle’s residence in Paharmura for a family gathering.
The deceased children are Saptadip Nama (6), Babli Roy (11), and Moutasi Das (12).
