Bengal Police to Exhume Faizan Ahmed’s Body Today in IIT Kharagpur Death Case
Guwahati: A team from the West Bengal Police has travelled to Dibrugarh in Assam to exhume the body of Faizan Ahmed, an IIT Kharagpur student.
The exhumation of Faizan from a grave in Dibrugarh town was ordered by the Calcutta High Court in order to perform a second post-mortem at the Medical College and Hospital in Calcutta.
According to reports, a four-person police squad from Kharagpur in Bengal has arrived in Dibrugarh to carry out the judgement of the Calcutta High Court.
It should be noted, Faizan was a third-year mechanical engineering student at IIT Kharagpur. He was discovered partially melted in a dorm room at IIT Kharagpur on October 14.
Faizan was buried at the Amolapatty Kabarstan (burial ground) in Dibrugarh town. He was a resident of Assam’s Tinsukia.
The college administration said the student committed suicide despite the family’s allegations of his murder. In a writ suit, Faizan’s parents claimed that their son had been murdered and filed it with the Calcutta High Court.
