8 Of Family Fall Ill After Consuming Poisonous Mushrooms In Assam’s Sivasagar

Guwahati: A family of eight reportedly became ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms in the Sivasagar district of Assam.

The incident was reported from Sapekhati village located in Sonari subdivision on Thursday.

According to accounts, all eight of them received medical treatment at Rajapukhuri hospital.

The affected persons have been identified as Dhaniram Karmakar, Shankar Karmakar, Mamata Karmakar, Hemant Karmakar, Mongli Karmakar, Ganesh Karmakar, Akhil Karmakar, Parishmita Karmakar.

Poisonous mushrooms can cause serious health problems and, in rare circumstances, even death. Despite the rarity of mushroom poisoning, it is crucial to use cautious when eating any type of mushroom, but especially wild mushrooms.
