CM Sarma Expresses Condolences Over Demise Of Jalukbari Accident

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed sorrow over the loss of life following the fatal traffic accident that involved seven Assam Engineering College (AEC) students on Monday.


In addition to promising medical aid for the seriously injured, CM Sarma extended his sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased.


Taking to Twitter, CM Sarma said, “Extremely anguished by the loss of young and precious lives in the road accident at Jalukbari. My deepest condolences to their parents and families. Have spoken to authorities at GMCH. All possible medical assistance is being provided to those injured.”


Seven Assam Engineering College (AEC) students perished earlier today in a car crash that happened in the Jalukbari neighbourhood of Guwahati.

The car accident happened this morning at 1:00 am on the Jalukbari Flyover road when the driver of the Scorpio with the licence plate As 01 GC 8829, in which they were travelling, lost control and crossed over a divider before colliding with a Bolero DI pickup van in the opposing lane travelling from the Guwahati side.

Ten people were in the car that the students had rented when the accident happened, according to the first information that was given.
