Assam: 2 Arrested With 2.2 Kg Heroin in Silchar

Guwahati: Cachar police on Saturday made a significant drug haul when they seized 143 soap cases carrying 2.2 kg of heroin and arrested two people in connection with the investigation.
The two drug peddlers, Faizal Laskar and Hakimul Barbhuiya, were caught in Silchar’s Katagashtal.

Following a tip, the Cachar police conducted a raid at Faizal Laskar’s Silchar home and found the heroin hidden within soap boxes.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, praised the Cachar police for the operation in the meantime.
“Cachar Police seized 143 soap cases containing 2.2 kg Heroin at Katagashtal, Silchar. Also apprehended two accused in the operation. Excellent work @assampolice. Keep it up,” said CM Sarma in his tweet.
