Assam: Factory Worker Electrocuted While Repairing Faulty Wiring
Guwahati: Assam Electricity Board employee on Sunday was electrocuted to death while repairing faulty electrical wiring inside a factory in the Bangalikuchi neighbourhood of Rangia, which is a part of the Kamrup district.
The deceased worker has been identified as Hamidur Rahman.
Locals transported him to a hospital nearby right away, but the medical staff there pronounced him dead.
Initial reports indicate that the factory electrician collapsed while replacing electrical wiring inside the building without turning off the power.
At Borkhola in the Cachar district of Assam, an employee of the power board was electrocuted to death last month while repairing an electrical wire problem.
According to reports, on Sunday night, a worker by the name of Bikram Das travelled from the Udarbond subdivision to the Borkhola region to address an electricity problem. When Bikram ascended the electrified post, tragedy struck.
According to sources, while Bikram was still attempting to resolve the situation, the sub-center abruptly turned on the electricity connection. As a result, Bikram was knocked to the ground and instantly passed away. Locals hurried him to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in the meantime. But the hospital’s medical staff pronounced him dead.
The villagers claim that the electrical board’s irresponsibility was to blame for the employee’s death. Bikram lived in the Borkhola neighbourhood of Rampur. The community has urged the authorities to provide financial support to the deceased person’s family.
