2 Arrested With Heroin Worth Rs 15 Crore In Mizoram

Mizoram police recovered more than 3 kilogrammes of heroin worth Rs 15 crore on Tuesday in the Champhai district and apprehended two traffickers in connection with it.
A squad of Champhai police conducted search operations and laid naka checks in the Hnahlan and Tualcheng village regions in response to intelligence information.

250 soap cases containing 3.02 kg of heroin were intercepted and seized by the team during the operation.

The market value of the seized pharmaceuticals is estimated to be over Rs 15 crore, according to an official statement.

Neezam Uddin (48) and Ismail Ali Laskar (27) of Assam’s Karimganj and Hailakandi districts, respectively, were the two smugglers who were captured.
According to the authorities, the couple was riding in a pick-up van when they were apprehended outside of Tualcheng hamlet.

Under sections 21(c)/25/29 of the ND&PS Act, a case has been opened at the Champhai police station for further investigation into backward and forward links.
