Assam: Drugs Worth Crores Seized In Separate Ops, 2 Arrested

The ongoing campaign against Assam’s drug problem continues to result in significant busts every day. Earlier today, there were two large drug busts in Assam’s Karimganj and Hailakandi districts.
Initial reports state that a big shipment of the narcotic Yaba tablets was seized as a result of an operation carried out by the Karimganj Police at Kaliganj Village in the South Karimganj Tehsil of Karimganj.

According to officials, 16,000 Yaba tablets were recovered during the search, and one person was taken into custody in relation to the incident.

The suspect, Samus Uddin, was apprehended by the police on suspicion of transporting the illegal narcotics. The medications were also estimated by officials to be worth roughly Rs 30 lakhs on the overseas markets.
In a separate operation, a lady heroin smuggler was also apprehended in Hailakandi, Assam, along with sizable quantities of heroin.

The woman was discovered to be in possession of 122 grammes of heroin, according to the authorities. Rezia Begum Laskar was the name given by authorities to the detained woman.

The Hailakandi Police had conducted an operation at the Nischintpur village in Hailakandi based on specific information, during which the drugs were discovered.
The cops apprehended the smuggler along with the consignment after discovering the heroin concealed in 10 soap cases. According to police, the heroin that was recovered was worth approximately Rs 1 crore on the black market for drugs.
