Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Leads Roadshow in Jorhat, Assam

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra spearheaded a roadshow on Tuesday in the Jorhat district of Assam, rallying support for party candidate Gaurav Gogoi.

Arriving at Jorhat airport in the morning, Vadra promptly made her way to Titabor, the assembly seat of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi and a segment of the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency.

Accompanied by Gogoi, state Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, AICC general secretary Jitendra Singh, Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, and other senior leaders, Vadra commenced the roadshow from Titabor Chariali.

Before embarking on the roadshow, Vadra highlighted the unique cultural and historical heritage of Northeastern states, lamenting the imposition of external rules by the BJP government. She also addressed pressing issues such as inflation and unemployment, emphasizing Congress’s commitment to alleviating public woes through its five-point agenda.

In Jorhat, Gogoi faces a direct contest with sitting MP Topon Kumar Gogoi from the BJP. Voting in Jorhat is scheduled for the first phase on April 19.

The roadshow, covering a distance of approximately two kilometers to Titabor Tiniali within the town, is a crucial part of the election campaign.

Following the event in Jorhat, Vadra will proceed to Tripura to lead another roadshow in the Tripura West constituency, further solidifying Congress’s electoral outreach efforts.
