Tragic Loss as Teenage Boy Drowns in Karimganj District

In a heartbreaking turn of events, tragedy struck the Shanbil area of Ramakrishnanagar in Assam’s Karimganj district, claiming the life of a teenage boy. Rajyaeshwar Das, aged 13, met his untimely demise while returning from his maternal uncle’s residence, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The unfortunate incident occurred as Rajyaeshwar Das attempted to board a small boat. Strong winds buffeted the vessel, causing it to capsize, plunging the young boy into the water. Despite the swift response of locals who launched a rescue operation upon noticing the empty boat adrift, their efforts were in vain.

Rajyaeshwar Das was discovered lifeless in the water, prompting an outpouring of grief among residents. His body was recovered using a fishing net, marking the somber end to a promising young life and sending ripples of sorrow throughout the community.

Authorities swiftly intervened, with the police recovering the boy’s body from the water. Subsequently, arrangements were made for the transfer of the body to the Karimganj Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.
