Nightclubs and Pubs Ordered for Immediate Closure by UT of NSCN-IM

The Secretary of the UT of NSCN-IM has issued a directive mandating the immediate closure of all nightclubs, pubs, and discos within the UT’s jurisdiction. This decision follows multiple complaints from the public and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) regarding the late-night operations of these establishments, often extending into the early morning hours.

In a press release, the UT Secretary highlighted concerns over the presence of underage girls at these venues, allegedly engaging in immoral activities with married men and non-local businessmen for financial gain. This troubling trend has prompted the UT office to take decisive action to preserve the community’s well-being and moral standards.

Moreover, the press release issued a stern warning against drug peddling and the sale of banned substances within the UT’s jurisdiction. UT authorities expressed deep concern over the escalating drug use among young Naga youths, attributing it to the easy availability of these substances. To combat this threat, the NSCN/GPRN UT officials pledged stringent action against anyone involved in the sale or distribution of banned substances or drugs.

Additionally, the UT Office cautioned its staff to seek approval for any work within the UT jurisdiction. The Secretary emphasized that any staff member involved in untoward incidents within the UT’s jurisdiction would face strict disciplinary action. This comprehensive approach underscores the UT’s commitment to upholding law and order and preserving the moral integrity of its community.
