Woman Arrested in Major Drug Bust at Naharlagun Grocery Shop

Naharlagun: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, local women’s groups and police flying squads arrested a woman from the Doke clan of the Galo tribe. She was caught selling drugs from her grocery shop, which was revealed to be a front for her husband’s drug smuggling activities.

The arrest followed a coordinated search by the women’s group and Naharlagun police. Despite the successful operation, the woman’s husband managed to escape.

Residents expressed concern about the increasing number of drug sales through small grocery shops, linking this to the rise in drug addiction and related crimes. Authorities are intensifying efforts to combat the drug trade and restore safety in the community.
