Dollungmukh, August 24 — Two unexploded World War II bombs were found near Murtem Koro in Paro village, close to the Indian Air Force (IAF) firing range in Dollungmukh Circle. The bombs, weighing 100 kg and 500 kg respectively, were uncovered by a local villager.
Local authorities, including Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamle Kardak Riba, responded promptly to the discovery. The area has been secured and cordoned off to prevent public access, ensuring safety while the IAF and district administration manage the situation.
SP Kamle Kardak Riba convened a meeting with Gaon Burahs and Gram Panchayat members to discuss the potential risks and safety measures. Coordinated efforts are underway to safely defuse or detonate the bombs to mitigate any danger to the community.
