In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police conducted a successful operation in Morigaon district on Monday, seizing approximately 75 kilograms of illicit ganja. The operation, which took place in the Bhuragaon region, led to the arrest of two individuals identified as Rahul Amin and Qazimuddin, who were found in possession of the narcotic substance.
The estimated market value of the confiscated ganja is reported to be in lakhs, highlighting the scale of the operation. Following the seizure, police have registered a case against the duo under relevant sections at the Bhuragaon Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway to uncover any further connections in this drug trafficking case.
This operation comes shortly after another successful raid by Assam Police, where 14 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs 1.5 lakh were seized from the residence of a suspected drug dealer, Hirak Jyoti Bharali. During that operation, authorities confiscated not only the ganja but also a mobile phone and a scooter registered as AS25 V 1913.
