Arunachal Pradesh Man Arrested for Damaging Public Property Under the Influence of Alcohol
Pasighat Police in Arunachal Pradesh arrested a 30-year-old man for vandalizing under-construction public property at the Komlighat riverfront area on November 16. The accused, identified as Ojing Gaduk, a resident of Pasighat’s Jarku, was caught after a viral social media post accused him of damaging the property while under the influence of alcohol.
The police, led by OC PS Pasighat Igel Lollen, swiftly responded to the post and launched an investigation under the supervision of SDPO Ayup Boko, APPS. The inquiry confirmed Gaduk’s involvement in the incident, leading to his arrest.
A formal FIR was filed by M/S JB Constructions, and a case was registered under sections 329(3)/324(5) BNS r/w Sec. 3 of the PDPP Act. Gaduk was presented before the CJM Pasighat Court, where he was remanded to judicial custody on November 17.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have reiterated that damaging or vandalizing public property is a punishable offense. SP Pasighat Pankaj Lamba urged the public to uphold civic responsibility and protect community assets for the collective good.
