Youth In Assam Jumps Into Brahmaputra To Save Brother; Both Swept Away

Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, two brothers went missing after they fell into River Brahmaputra in Assam’s South Salmara-Mankachar district on Monday.

The incident occurred near Hatsingimari village of the district. 

Reports claim that the younger brother accidentally slipped into the large river and was carried away by the powerful currents. The elder brother valiantly leapt into the river to help him but was also carried away.

Soon after, the two—both of whom are thought to be teenagers—went missing and were never found.

The two brothers have been identified as Dilwar Hussain and Golam Mustafa. 

Upon receiving information, local police and State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF) reached the spot and initiated a search operation for the two missing youths. 

Following an extensive search, the bodies were later found.
