Guwahati: CM Sarma To Distribute Appointment Letters to 44,703 Candidates On May 25
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday that the state will hold a recruitment event on (Thursday) May 25 at the Veterinary College grounds in Guwahati’s Khanapara where 44,703 applicants will receive appointment letters.
This was revealed at a news conference held at Janata Bhawan in Dispur.
The chief minister announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would also go to Guwahati to take part in the function.
The Assam Government had promised jobs to 45,000 candidates, but when the candidates with disabilities were re-examined, some of them were unable to pass the medical examination. This is the reason why their results have been hidden.
He stated that a total of 44,703 will be hired at this time.
The chief minister described the hiring process in detail, stressing the numerous ministries and open posts. 11,048 of the total number of applicants who showed up for the exam will be hired for Class 3 posts.
1,279 people applied for the Assam Police, and 553 were picked for radio operator positions, while 39 were chosen for fireman positions.
307 more members would be added to the Home Guards department, 301 to the jail department, and 222 to the excise department. In the forest battalions, 2,720 people would also receive appointment letters.
CM Sarma also emphasised the government’s commitment to the 231 Assam Police families who had lost loved ones in martyrdom, saying that they will be offered job chances. In addition, 359 people who had previously been turned down for police department employment have now been appointed.
5,281 individuals would be hired for the health department, while 704 additional employees would join the education department. Of these, 2,332 would be employed as secondary teachers, while 421 would work as assistant professors in colleges. Notably, individuals from Assam will occupy all of the elementary teacher vacancies.
Furthermore, 14 people would be appointed to the Directorate of Soil Conservation, and additional recruitment lists would be issued as long as the cut-off marks remained the same. These extra lists would include classes 3 and 4, which have 637 and 198 openings, respectively. With 2,000 more police roles and 600 more health department employees, the total number of additional positions would be 22,565. There would be 2,519 and 1,347 additional applicants for Class 3 and Class 4 jobs, respectively.
Moreover, 1,000 vacancies in the Panchayat and Rural Development department would be filled, while the education department would add an amazing 10,219 roles.

Sarma emphasised that before June 15, candidates must report to their assigned places of duty and possess an identity card. Failure to do so would be interpreted as a refusal to accept the position.
“With the appointment of 44,703 candidates on May 25, recruitment to 88,000 posts will be completed on the path of providing 1 lakh government jobs. And since there are overlapping in many places therefore we have decided to publish advertisements for 22,000 posts under various departments in July this year,” the CM added.
